SFFLA President

Mr. Chua Seng Wah (Alvin) is the President of SFFLA and also Head of Trade Facilitation.

He was elected as SFFLA Committee member in 2003 and was elected as Vice-President in 2007. In 2009, he was elected as Deputy President. During the same year, he took over as President of SFFLA, following the untimely demise of the late Tan Ah Beng.

He held the position of President in SFFLA until 2018 where he was elected as Deputy President. He is the Chairman of the Trade Facilitation Portfolio.

Mr Alvin is credited with the professional capacity building of members through a sustainable capacity development program, a job he inherited from the late President, Tan Ah Beng, since 2009. To date, SFFLA has trained more than a thousand staff of members in the UNESCAP Certificate in Multimodal Transport and 47 graduated with FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding.

In 2017, Mr Alvin was awarded the Certificate of Merit on the occasion of International Customs Day by the World Customs Organisation for rendering exceptional service to the International Customs Community.

Mr Alvin is also the President of FMFF, a position he has held since 2009. As President of FMFF, Mr Alvin sits as a member in many national, regional and international forums and working groups, on trade facilitation. He is the international face for both SFFLA and FMFF and is a much sought-after speaker at national and regional events.

Another exemplary graduate of IHK (Institute of Hard Knocks) Mr Alvin is a role model for many aspiring entrepreneurs in the logistics experience. His vast experience and knowledge in the forwarding and logistics has been a great benefit to SFFLA.
